National Guard troops rolled into Los Angeles early Sunday morning on orders from President Donald Trump after riots broke out across the city against immigration enforcement operations.

U.S. Northern Command confirmed over social media that members of the 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team had arrived in the city. More troops are expected to arrive; Trump ordered 2,000 to the Los Angeles area to quell unrest and protect federal agents from violent demonstrators.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Raised by a single mother in the Florida panhandle, Keith Gross is the definition of an American success story. He worked his way through school, served in the National Guard, and returned home to Florida after earning his law degree.

Yet his humble beginnings and accelerated achievements tell more than a "rags to riches" story. They are a testament to the power of the American Dream, a dream he believes must be restored and defended.

In Dirt Roads to Runways, Keith shares his experiences living the American Dream. He also provides insights into the current state of America and a strong vision for instilling new hope and moxie into today's generations and beyond.

From Trauma To Joy: Life changing lessons that fellow US Marines taught me after traumatic events occurred in my life... Lessons that apply to ANYONE

By Michael F. McNamara
May 26, 2025

From Trauma to Joy is a "how to" book about living a great life after trauma enters your life. The book's central premise is that no matter what traumatic experience or experiences you have been through, there is a path from trauma to joy for you. The book lays out that path in simple language and utilizes 160 images and diagrams to embed these life-changing ideas in the minds of its readers.

The book includes twenty-four stories of people who the author met at public presentations or in online seminars, who embraced these life-changing principles and then actually traveled this path from trauma to joy. These personal stories are powerful and illustrate for the reader a simple truth: none of us are prepared for the traumatic events that enter our lives, but if these ordinary people can travel the path this book lays out and find joy again, then so can you.

Mr. McNamara is not a mental health professional; he approaches this subject from the perspective of a leader, which he has been for most of his life. The target audience for From Trauma to Joy is any individual who has been through traumatic experiences or has loved ones who have those experiences and is looking for a path to live a great life – estimated to be approximately 95% of the US population. Importantly, Mr. McNamara states explicitly that From Trauma to Joy is not a book for people who struggle with a serious mental illness – estimated to be approximately 5% of the US population – and counsels anyone in that group to seek professional medical and psychiatric care.

From Trauma to Joy aims to transform the reader’s life by sharing unvarnished truths about the reality of life after trauma, by showing readers a path that anyone can travel to become a better version of themself, and then by challenging the reader to help others which is the key to transforming one’s life.
