Our Guest: Alex ParkerAlex Parker has 25+ years' experience in the entertainment industry. Beginning in Nashville, TN, he hosted numerous college radio shows and a nationally syndicated program on WAY FM, a precursor to KLOVE. While attending Belmont University, he worked as a record promoter for several prominent record labels, breaking debuts by The Newsboys, Sixpence None the Richer, The Huntington's and Circle of Dust. In 1995 he launched his own record label, Flying Tart Records, releasing more than 50 albums and singles before selling the company to Polygram in 1998. After attending film school he wrote, produced, directed and edited 4 short films; his most recent, “Americana”, won several awards in Los Angeles, including Best Comedy Short at the Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival.
After a 5-year stint in Los Angeles as a personal stylist and women’s shoe specialist for Macy’s Century City, he accepted a position in Tulsa, OK with movie company Speropictures. As Lead Producer for Speropictures’ numerous podcasts, he created over 400 pieces of content, including social media marketing for the Angel Studio’s movie “The Sound of Freedom”. He is also credited as Assistant Editor and Lead Researcher on the Kari Lake documentary “State Of Denial” and the recently released “The Enemy Within” docu-series about Overstock.com’s founder, and CIA asset, Patrick Byrne.
Residing now in Redding, CA, he hosts his own podcast and Substack called "Axe To Grind" with co-host Darren Johnson of thrash metal band Living Sacrifice, he’s also resurrected his Flying Tart label on Bandcamp.com. Alex is now a radio producer at KCNR radio.
He's also launching another podcast in January on the Creators Co. Podcast Network called "Hard To Watch" about movies that are so bad, they are hard to watch.
Alex is also recording his first album in Spring 2026.
