World leaders have made a forceful statement that climate change is the greatest challenge facing humanity in the 21st century. However, little progress has been made in implementing policies to address climate change. In Climate Uncertainty and Risk, eminent climate scientist Judith Curry shows how we can break this gridlock. This book helps us rethink the climate change problem, the risks we are facing and how we can respond to these challenges. Understanding the deep uncertainty surrounding the climate change problem helps us to better assess the risks. This book shows how uncertainty and disagreement can be part of the decision-making process. It provides a road map for formulating pragmatic solutions. Climate Uncertainty and Risk is essential reading for those concerned about the environment, professionals dealing with climate change and our national leaders.

On July 29, 2025, the Department of Energy (DOE) published a report entitled A Critical Review of Impacts of Greenhouse Gas Emissions on the U.S. Climate, evaluating existing peer-reviewed literature and government data on climate impacts of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions and providing a critical assessment of the conventional narrative on climate change.
Among the key findings, the report concludes that carbon dioxide (CO2) -induced warming appears to be less damaging economically than commonly believed, and that aggressive mitigation strategies could be more harmful than beneficial.
This report:
  • Reviews scientific certainties and uncertainties in how anthropogenic emissions of CO2 and other GHGs have affected, or will affect, the Nation’s climate, extreme weather events, and metrics of societal well-being.
  • Assesses the near-term impacts of elevated concentrations of CO2, including enhanced plant growth and reduced ocean alkalinity.
  • Evaluates data and projections regarding long-term impacts of elevated concentrations of CO2, including estimates of future warming.
  • Finds that claims of increased frequency or intensity of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and droughts are not supported by U.S. historical data.
  • Asserts that CO2-induced warming appears to be less damaging economically than commonly believed, and that aggressive mitigation policies could prove more detrimental than beneficial.
  • Finds that U.S. policy actions are expected to have undetectably small direct impacts on the global climate and any effects will emerge only with long delays.

Gregory Wrightstone is a geologist, bestselling author and Senior Fellow for the CO2 Coalition, the pre-eminent scientific organization in the world that disputes the “consensus” narrative of man-made catastrophic warming. He was accepted as an “Expert Reviewer” for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (AR-6).

His first book,  Inconvenient Facts – The science that Al Gore doesn’t want you to know, was a #1 bestseller in several categories on Amazon multiple times  His most recent book on the science of climate change,  A Very Convenient Warming – How modest warming and more CO2 are benefiting humanity was published in 2024. In 2025, he created his first science-based illustrated children’s book Chloe the Clownfish Sleeps Well.

By nearly every metric, Earth’s ecosystems are thriving, and the human condition is improving. This notion of a prospering planet is entirely contrary to the claims of a climate crisis and a looming disaster around every corner, as proclaimed by the Climate Industrial Complex.

Wrightstone has authored or co-authored more than 200 papers, publications and commentaries concerning climate change and energy. He is a popular guest for media outlets on television, radio and podcasts, having done more than 200 interviews in 2023 alone.

He had a 35-year career in the energy industry, focused primarily on the Appalachian Basin of the eastern United States, culminating in his role as a founding partner and VP of Exploration for Mountaineer Keystone.
  • Four-time President of the Pittsburgh Association of Petroleum Geologists
  • President of the Eastern Section AAPG
  • Founder and President of the Pennsylvania Coalition for Responsible Government, a state-wide free market advocacy group.
  • Co-founder of Pennsylvanians Against Common Core

Wrightstone is a strong proponent of the scientific process and often refers to a basic tenet of English law: Audiatur et altera pars or “Let both sides be fairly heard.”

Learn about the enormous benefits that are accruing to humanity from modest warming and increasing carbon dioxide. By nearly every metric, Earth's ecosystems are thriving, and the human condition is improving. This notion of a prospering planet is entirely contrary to the claims of a climate crisis and looming disaster around every corner proclaimed by the Climate Industrial Complex.

In this book we will explore these benefits and learn that extreme weather events are not increasing, how we are feeding the planet's growing population through expanded crop growth and that modest warming is saving lives.

This book, A Very Convenient Warming, is separated into three sections:
The first section, titled
Basic Climate Facts, is an expansion and update of Inconvenient Facts' exploration of data concerning temperature and carbon dioxide. In it, we look at both the very recent and very long-term changes in both. This review clearly exposes that claims of unusual and unprecedented warming are erroneous and that hysteria over increases in CO2 are unwarranted. We also take a close look at the relationship between CO2 and temperature and find nothing of concern.

In the second section, Humanity and Climate: Blessed Warmth, Horrific Cold, we review the strong relationship between the histories of humanity and temperature. In it, we find that past warm periods were warmer than today and correlated to the rise of great empires and civilizations. These warmer times of plenty were called "climate optima" before the rampant politization of climate science. The corollary to this were the cold periods that were horrific. Each cooling period was related to crop failure, famine, pestilence and mass depopulation. History tells us that we should fear the cold and welcome the warmth.

In the final section,
Life Is Good, And Getting Better, you will learn that the various climate crises are, in fact, simply lies created to spread fear of a non-existent problem. In this section we explore the many benefits that are improving the human condition and leading to thriving ecosystems.

My hope is that I have presented enough material in this book for you to confidently assess and evaluate the various claims made by the proponents of a climate crisis. Make up your own mind, for that is the scientific process.
You have been inundated with reports from media, governments, think tanks and ''experts'' saying that our climate is changing for the worse and it is our fault. Increases in droughts, heat waves, tornadoes and poison ivy - to name a few - are all blamed on our ''sins of emissions'' from burning fossil fuels and increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Yet, you don't quite buy into this human-caused climate apocalypse. You aren't sure about the details because you don't have all the facts and likely aren't a scientist. Inconvenient Facts was specifically created for you. Writing in plain English and providing easily understood charts and figures, Gregory Wrightstone presents the science to assess the basis of the threatened Thermageddon.

The book's 60 ''inconvenient facts'' come from government sources, peer-reviewed literature or scholarly works, set forth in a way that is lucid and entertaining. The information likely will challenge your current understanding of many apocalyptic predictions about our ever dynamic climate.

You will learn that the planet is improving, not in spite of increasing CO2 and rising temperature, but because of it. The very framework of the climate-catastrophe argument will be confronted with scientific fact. Arm yourself with the truth.

Chloe the Clownfish Sleeps Well is a delightful read and brilliantly illustrated. Kids will readily identify with Chloe's concerns and confusion about the demise of the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. Parents can appreciate Chloe's relief after learning simple scientific facts about the health of modern coral reefs.

Those scientific facts correct the doomsday misinformation that has been causing Chloe, and so many children worldwide, the needless anxiety of a false climate crisis. I promise Chloe the Clownfish will become a favorite bedtime story. In addition, a three-page postscript provides checkable facts for adults, so parents can also sleep well knowing their children are getting the best science possible. Enjoy!
